New Patchwork Vase
This is a new Patchwork Series Vase. This year I decided to do some more in this series but in some different forms. These are beautifully made with lots of textures. I had been mulling over some ideas of skirted forms and sketched some out. So more planning went into these pieces. The new ones are also lighter because the whole form is thrown,assembled,fractured, and then textured. The old ones were thrown forms with slab patches which made them much heavier. These new ones are also all gas-fired in oxidation with glazes and metallic oxide washes. This one is in a private collection. Height:18 inches.
