This is Patchwork Series platter that I made many years ago. This piece is about what mankind's epitaph would be once man has destroyed itself through war,rape,murder, and all the other things we do to ruin ourselves. This pieces is high-fired brown stoneware with glazes and metallic oxide washes. It is in the private collextion of Trinity Ceramics.
Confronting My Mortality
This piece is one I made when I started having heart troubles. I realized for the first time that my motality was something that I had little control of. It was a very hard time for me and made me question a lot of things in my life. When one is confronted with their mortality in such an abrupt way it really makes you question everything.
This pieces is multi-fired:high-fired, low-fired, then luster-fired with 22kt gold. It is meant to be a cross between a vase and a human heart. It has a lot of writing on it. It is a very personal piece but is on exhibition at the Lori Davis Gallery. NFS
